Star-crossed lovers. A story
Just read... nu suna bine in romana...
It happened some time ago, în a cloudy, rainy night, with nothing to do, and a poor
judgment. în my big lackof activity | decided to review my social contact ist on the
network | often use those days. After | cruised a bit hardly impressed by what !
found there, | ran înto him, unaware of what that would mean în îhe future...and
here itis where it al] began.
He wrote to me first and after a while ot talhing on the internet ! noticed that from
afar he seemed to_be like any other random guy, looking for a randomiy selected
hook-up, trying to fil the void în his îife with the itle pleasure sex has to offer. |
discovered later that he used this method just because he was afraid of being hurt
but deepiy în his heart he desired that destiny would show him a îtle mercy and
allow him to meet a guy to his king, someone like him in some aspects, yet so
diferent în other ones.
We _talked for hours and as the lines went on ! saw him more and more
interesting and by the break of dawn we found it necessary to end our conversation
but we both wanted to meet again and talk again.
He was fascinaling, a combination between smart and sarcastic puling them and
miing them în such a manner that almost made me dizzy.
The day that just started was like any other day, lectures and practical abilties, yet
nis time it seemed do go on quicker. ! was thinking of him and what he told me,
about his problems, his aspirations, his strive for Anowledge and wisdorm...I could
not stop thinking about him.
1! îs rareiy that ! am impressed by someone, loching myselt în my own world and
not letting anyone get in just to avoid destruction, but somehow in a weird yet
classy manner he managed to have me sold from îhe very beginning and! found
myself yeaming for a new sleepless night în his company .at least virtualiy. Later
nat evening i? heppened, we started fo talk again, but this time ! was the one to
talk about my fears, my excuses and the drama that is my te. told him ! wanted
and succeed to tum my heart in a heart of stone, | told him ! was tired of getting
hurt by others; | told him about he mixture of stress and emolions and my desire to.
invent a *Shuf down” button and turn everything off in order to make the pain and
misery go away and keep my new heart of stone. He iistened to me patientiy and
augied but not like the others...he Iaughed în a smart and understanding way,
feling me that he was going through the same thing. He told me the story of ling
David and his ring, a ring that had engraved on it the words "This will pass as well”,
assuring me that no matter how hard ie gets or how different and paintui tis so
worth ving every moment. ! was impressed by his wisdom and as the dawn came
once more ! found that is was hard to say goodbye but the separation was
nevitable. This time however it was even harder îhan the last time.
As my day went by ! reaiized that somehow, we ciicked în such a manner that
made me euphoric and frustrated at the same time at the simplest factthat a
random stranger came into my network!ist and made me feel something ! never
felt before, something ! never wanted to feel, something different and amazing at
he sarme time.
1 tked him and as the days went by ! started to grow more and more fond of him
and his natural way of being. The days were now longer, agitated and passed hard
but the nighis were filed with an air ot mystic powers that în bodied us while we
poured our hearts out to each other. This time, before the break ofdawn we
decided to meet the following night for coffee and a smoke.
AS the evening came | became more and more nervous and was early at the
meeting point just waiting for him to show up. As soon as saw him walking my,
way, ! knew | was starting to fallin love with the stranger that not only conquered
my nighis but also my heart or stone. There was somelhing about him, în îhe way
he walked and talked that made me shiver with passion and desire and | knew then
and there that | wanted him more than a friend. | wanted him as a over. We talked
a iot asthe coffee ran iate and everything was magical. At midnight he asked me if
! wanted to go to his place for a nighicap. As charmed by a higher power | went to
his place and ! allowed myself to go with the flow and înstinct of making him my
man and being his lover for the whole night. Fireworks is the best way to describe
what happened that night.
| tell asleep în his arms and iater ! woke up at the feeling of his gentie touch. | was
mesmerized by his smile and the way he looked at me as | was the only man for
him în the whole worid.
We stayed în each others arms al night long, but later that night my bubble was,
crushed by the cruei reality and the sound of his voice teling me the dark and
trouble part of his soul. A failed long term relationship and a couple of bad
rehounds made him a wretch, a crushed wave but the hardness of the stones, a
ship that dited away from the shore. He told me something ! never expected to
hear from him, he told me it was just sex.
1 was shocked, frustrated, used and confused, a salad of feelings that crushed my
image of him and his magic. The adrenaline refused îo kick in and ! desperateiy
wanted to feel numb. Instinctiveiy | got up and dressed and left, leaving behind the
loud and desperate calis of my lover, refusing to answer to him. The worid came
tumbiing down, my heart was pounding out of my chest. Fear, frustration
diseppointment and disilusion were just a few ofthe jeelings that came into my
mind. | felt completely and utteriy lost.
The days after that night passed so slow, the pain of his words, the look în his,
eyes, his tears, everyihing haunted me. ! refused to answer to any of his calls and
text messages deeply wanting to close myself again and spear my suffering. |
blocked him from my network ist telling myself that ! never want to hear from him
again but for the next days ! couldnt stop thinking of the "what if question... what
he was the one for me, whatiflikes me and ed telling me it's just sex, what if 1
never find someone like him, what if we can never be together...what i.
After a few days ! decided to answer to his texts messages and his cals. We
falked again for hours, he explained that he lied and that îs wasntt just sex, he told
me he ikes me but hisiile was an emotional mess and he did not know what path
lo follow next. We decide to remain friends for a period of time, regardless of the
pain and heartache we would have to face.
As much as we înied to keep în touch and remain îriends, we started to drift apart
unti! one ! never heard from him again and! was left only with his memories and
ine one ietter where he contessed that he loves me and îhat | am îhe love of his
ife, but there is something that is holding him back
Time past, the wounds started to healin time, | forgot about him and moved on
with my fe. | became once again what was before, a robot, a man with a heart of
stone, oniy this time, my heart hada scar. He changed everything în me, he kiled
my hopes, he crushed my dreams and | wanted to never hear from him again.
iile, has a funny way of dealing its cards and karma was getting me back on
some of my sins. One day as! stood by the sea side thinting of what my life has
become and what path to follow now în the career that is about to start, spelled by
ine deep blue and lost in the magic and'then! feltit... felt the touch Î was never
able to forget. his touch on my shoulder.
| saw him after all this time, he hasntt change atat, he was stil that handsome
charming wise stranger that came into my fe those years ago. We sat down on
ine sand listening to the waves crashing on the shore. We started to talk,
reminiscing_of our days of glory, our îves and we both shared the burden of regrei
nat we did not fight harder for our love. He regretted his pride, his unkind words,
his cowardness and ! regretted my haste and impatienis. We both had a lot of
regrets and in the end we were both haunted by the magic ofthat night, by the
magic that once binded us.
The world, the odds and the gods where against us and our love, but în a world
of impossibilties and improbabiliies, somehow, we found each others and although
our iove did not resist îhe test, me and him, wil ahways be star-crossed lovers that
louched once and then go our separate ways. ! took one last look at him,
remembering everything that made me fal! in iove with him and then, we parted
